Just to give you a little bit of background before we begin, the band GLASS is Alexander King (vocals/guitars), Andy Curry (vocals/synths), Jim Stafford (bass) and Dan Whiting (drums). Formed in ’08 from the ashes of AKP, the name and this debut album, was inspired by Anthony Philip Glass, an inventor from the 19th century. The band’s mastermind King inherited a storage unit belonging to the late creator, and in there he found all manner of memorabilia. But hey, all that (and more) is in the blog over at the official website. Needless to say, a lot of time and energy has been concentrated and spent on researching the inventor who inspired this credible collection of post-punk sounds.

Welcome to an education in decent electronic, gothic dance music from France. The group kick-off with a cover version of ‘Fade to Grey’ from Visage - while electric guitars add a portion of industrial hardness, the base is solid programming which serves fresh electro meat to the dark discotheques community.

We know this one is a little old, but it's still very bloody good. There's bits of electro, indie and good ol' fashioned rock in this one from York's own AKP. The group disbanded a few years ago now (members went on to form GLASS), but 'Diagonal Man' remains as a thoughtful and provocative anthem..

After releasing their debut EP ‘Vagabonds’ in summer 2009, northwest duo 19ninetynine have produced their first full-length album, entitled ‘Put Out The Sun’ – the many months of work are evident, considering the band are unsigned and this is their debut, each track is constructed and produced down to the smallest detail to give 10 tracks of decent industrial-tinged EBM that carry the listener through the creators’ damaged world.
